The Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said that he fears the people of Lagos will suffer underdevelopment if they vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday Punch reports.
He disclosed this during a meeting with the members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Lagos on Wednesday March 8.
Osinbajo, who was the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice for eight years in Lagos State, said the PDP-led Federal Government had always been wicked to the state, depriving Lagos of federal projects.
The vice president-elect, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), said he was the one that represented Lagos at the Supreme Court when the Federal Government illegally withheld local government funds belonging to Lagos. He said Lagos had continued to suffer as an opposition state, adding that now that the APC had taken control of the Federal Government, it would be unfair for the people of Lagos to remain in the opposition.
He said, “One of the great opportunities today is the fact that we now have the centre and we are in control of the Federal Government. It is a very crucial moment in the history of our state because this state has always provided leadership and direction in Nigeria.
