Rivers: INEC fixes April 18 for rescheduled elections


The Independent National Electoral Commission has rescheduled elections for this Saturday, 18th April in areas where voting did not take place on 11th of April elections in Rivers State

The rescheduled elections are for areas in the state where voting did not take place on 11th of April, last Saturday. This announcement by the Rivers State resident electoral commissioner, Gesila Khan, was contained in a statement distributed through SMS by the information officer of the INEC in Rivers state, Daily Post reports.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Gesila Khan said the elections will hold in all the wards in Emohua Local Government Area, as well as wards 1, 2, 7, 9, 10 and 11 in Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area.Others are wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 12e and 13 in Ahoada-East Constituency One; as well as wards five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten in Ahoada-East Constituency Two.
The announcement by the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner was contained in as statement distributed through SMS by the Information Officer of INEC in Rivers State.
