Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, is sure of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ability to eliminate corruption in Nigeria. He made his position known speaking on Wednesday, July 29, while receiving members of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission, Daily Post reports.
“With the high sense of responsibility and doggedness of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari, I am optimistic that things will change for better.“I am very hopeful that Mr President will do everything possible to fight corruption to a standstill.”
Addressing the members of the anti-graft commission, Sanusi called for strict punishment of the guilty people, no matter what post they occupy:
“Your work should not only look at what is happening at bottom position in the society. You should start from the top; whoever is found wanting, he or she should be dealt with severely. You should also not consider party affiliation while doing your work.
“If you want to succeed in your newly assigned responsibility you must be ready to deal with corrupt officials. Fighting against corruption starts from the top not from the bottom.”
