'Miracle' as drowned girl comes back to life after having no heartbeat for 12 minutes

A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl's family have spoken of the "miracle" recovery of their daughter, who came back to life after drowning. Little Alise Nipper was at a party with her family and friends when she was found unconscious in the swimming pool.

Mum Jamie pulled her "blue and lifeless" body out of the water and tried desperately to revive her. Alise remained unresponsive, but Jamie refused to give in and after 12 minutes of CPR she began to feel a heartbeat.

Jamie said she had lost sight of Alise after the family had run inside to take cover from a thunderstorm. Her daughter had been wearing a life-jacket in the pool all day, but had removed it after getting out.

We saw lightning from afar, that’s when we had the kids get out of the pool. “For a split second, I thought 'keep her life jacket on'. “All of a sudden, I look over and she wasn’t there, where I last saw her.” Jamie frantically searched for her daughter, finding her in the pool and pulling her out. Alise showed no signs of life, so her mum and friend Heather Kyle, a nurse, performed CPR on her.

Heather said she had “little hope” but added: “I said we are going to do CPR until an ambulance gets here.” After 12 long minutes, they felt a heartbeat and Alise was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
