Tom Holland, Charlie Plummer and Matthew Lintz are reportedly still in the running to play Peter Parker in the new 'Spider-Man' movie.

As the search for the new Spider-Man is still ongoing, new updates on the casting process have surfaced. It's reported that the shortlist has been narrowed down to three, with Asa Butterfield out of contention. Meanwhile, Tom Holland, Charlie Plummer and Matthew Lintz are reportedly still in the running.

According to TheWrap's Jeff Sneider, Sony wants Holland while Marvel is favoring Plummer. Another source says that Charlie Rowe is also in the mix, while Birth. Movies. Death. reports that it's down to two, not three, and they are Holland and Rowe.

The new Spider-Man movie is said to focus on Parker in his high school years. In the upcoming movie, he has already been bitten by the radioactive spider so his origin story won't be addressed again.
