Terrorist Group Attack Military Checkpoint in Egypt’s northern Sinai

According to Aljazeera, About 35 people have been confirmed dead in ongoing gun battles between military personnel and ISIL affiliated fighters in Egypt’s northern Sinai.According to Aljazeera, about 70 fighters of the terrorist group simultaneously attacked several targets resulting in the deaths of 22 of the fighters. Three of their vehicles were also destroyed.

There has been no official death toll because ambulances were seen going and coming and it was difficult for emergency officials to reach wounded victims for fear of being caught in the cross fire.

Police stations in the towns of Sheikh Zuweid and El-Arish were among the targets of the attacks. The attack included a suicide bombing and the attackers were said to have taken over two military tanks.
